Description
Unit Specific Performance Objectives
1.Document the observations of the individual interventions, and responses in progress notes.
2.Involves family in treatment during visiting hours and telephone contacts, reporting outcome to the treatment team staff/Shift Supervisor or Program Manager daily.
3.Identifies and acts to prevent potential crisis situations and appropriately manage individual.
4.Communicates well by reporting incidents and areas of concern of the individual and unit environment to the RN and supervisory staff on the unit.
5.Maintains a safe environment by performing contraband checks, orienting the individual to safety rules and adhering to all Southwood Hospital and MR/DD safety policies. Checks/inspects the individual's personal bins daily.
6.Transport the individual as needed to the emergency room or medical and dental appointments as needed and as required.
7.Assist in community meetings and groups if necessary.
8.Monitors cleanliness of unit, reporting any maintenance variances to the Shift Supervisor or Program Manager.
9.Utilizes a positive, growth-oriented, and problem solving approach with individuals, staff, and management.
10.Demonstrates an understanding of normal growth and developmental stages of children and adolescents, and initiates appropriate treatment based upon their needs.
11.Demonstrates an understanding of milieu interventions and supportive interaction, and perform these under the direction of RN and supervisory staff or management staff.
12.Performs other duties as required.
