The ideal candidate will possess a passion for providing mental health support within a correctional environment. This position involves offering therapeutic services to inmates, ensuring their mental health needs are met in a professional and compassionate manner. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide professional mental health services to inmates, including individual and group therapy sessions.
- Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to the needs of the inmates.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver comprehensive mental health care.
- Maintain detailed and accurate clinical documentation.
- Work efficiently and independently, while also collaborating effectively with facility programs and external agencies.
- Offer mental health or offense-specific treatment to sex offenders, adhering to established protocols.
- Ensure compliance with all required registrations, permits, and licensures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree from an accredited institution in counseling, social work, psychology, or marriage and family therapy. A copy of transcripts must be attached, showing the applicant's name, the accredited institution, the degree received, and the date the degree was conferred.
- Within 30 days of completing the Training Academy, apply for listing with the Colorado Sex Offender Management Board (SOMB).
- Current and valid permit or license from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies as one of the following: Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Psychologist Candidate, or Psychologist.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's or doctoral degree in a mental health field from a program accredited by CACREP, CSWE, AAMFT, COAMFTE, or APA.
- License eligible as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Psychologist.
- Experience in providing mental health treatment within a correctional facility.
