Job Description :

Job Type Full-time Description Job Summary: Contribute to innovative and unique control solutions to align with project and client's needs. Responsible for a variety of Automation Projects, including PLC, HMI, and SCADA Programming, Network Configuration, AC & DC Drive Setup & Configuration, Instrumentation, Electrical Design and Commissioning/Startup Support Services. Servicing customers in varying industrial, agricultural, food and dairy, municipal, and OEM sectors. Field Engineering duties including customer service calls, troubleshooting, and system startup & commissioning. Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer service and support, including service calls, emergency after hours calls, and remote/on-line support.
  • Customer contact skills including site engineering surveys, customer service, and project management.
  • Programming PLC's, HMI's, SCADA systems, and Operator Interface Terminals on various control systems.
  • DCS Programming of Emerson Delta V.
  • Design of control panel layout, motor control center layout, electrical schematic development, and component specification.
  • Development of system P&IDs, wiring schematics and drawings, panel layouts, and other associated automation system design documentation.
  • Electrical design duties for controls systems serving various industries.
  • Industrial control network design using common protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.
  • Electric motor drive selection, setup and configuration duties.
  • Selection of instrumentation for level, pressure, temperature & flow measurement and control systems.
  • Applying knowledge while working on significant and complex projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:

  • Varying customer environments (Food Grade, cGMP, Etc.).
  • Varying office and customer locations.
  • Varying schedules & occasional extended hours.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or associate's degree in engineering or related field with 3 years of relevant experience, or minimum five years related experience.
  • Knowledge of PLC's, programming in ladder logic, function block, and structured text. Knowledge of PID control and loop tuning.
  • Comfortable in a client facing role with ability to communicate effectively with clients in a professional & competent manner.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work efficiently autonomously or as a member of a team. Demonstrated ability to be a team player, with the willingness to help others within the department and company.
  • Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards including NFPA 70 & UL508A.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and the ability to multi-task
  • Personal computer skills: Microsoft Office products
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to: walk in uneven ground/set/slippery locations, climb steps/ladders, lift up to 75 pounds occasionally, bend/stoop/twist, drive to customer locations, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of various PLC manufacturers products.
  • Knowledge of various HMI manufacturers terminals.
  • Knowledge of various manufacturers AC & DC drives.
  • Knowledge of servo & stepper motor controls.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety standards and Safety Instrumented Systems.
  • Knowledge of hazardous locations including Class 1 and Class 2 locations and applicable codes and standards for these environments.
