SUMMARY OF POSITION Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer and as part of a team-based health care delivery model, provides clinical dental services in a fast-paced community health care setting. Provides diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases and conditions of the oral cavity in a competent and accurate manner. Ensures operational excellence in the delivery of all dental treatment including restorative dentistry in adults and children, fixed and removable prosthodontics, uncomplicated endodontics, and minor oral surgery. ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS

  • Increasing patient well-being through the accurate and timely diagnosis and delivery of high-quality dental treatment.
  • Ensuring the delivery of competent, accurate, dental care and treatment to all patients as assigned.
  • Providing leadership and direction to other dental clinic staff.
  • Meeting or exceeding all measurable standards of care, including overall clinical, quality, and productivity goals.
  • Ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and appropriate confidentiality with patient charting and related recordkeeping and administrative functions as assigned.
  • Diagnosing and treating emergency dental situations such as toothaches, fractured teeth/restorations, dentofacial trauma.
  • Developing treatment plans in conjunction with patients, coordinating all necessary referrals for complex endodontic, surgical, and/or advanced care in uncooperative pediatric patients.
  • Upholding a level of comfort with composite and amalgam restorations, single canal root canal therapy, extraction of erupted teeth, uncomplicated fixed and removable prosthodontics.
  • Attending dental provider and organizational meetings.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Graduate of an accredited dental school (DDS or DMD degree) and maintenance of Kansas state dental licensure required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Occasional evening and weekend availability is required.

  • Travel to all parts of the facility and throughout the community.
  • PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
    • Bilingual fluency in written and oral English/Spanish preferred.
    • Experience or enthusiasm regarding the treatment of dental pediatric patients.

    • Must have mobility to perform physical movements, on a repetitive basis, normally associated with the practice of primary care dentistry.
    • Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, radiation and other conditions common to a clinical environment may routinely be encountered.
    • Work involves handling sharp objects.
    • Position involves extensive use of computer, telephone, fax and copier equipment.
    • Must have the manual dexterity and experience to perform all aspects of general dentistry.
    • Prolonged sitting or standing may be required.
    • Employment is contingent upon successful clearance from Criminal, Kansas and Missouri Child/Elder Abuse and Neglect, Sex Offender background investigations, TB testing, pre-employment drug testing, and verification of Hepatitis-B, flu and COVID-19 immunizations.
    • Occasional evening and weekend availability are required.
