Summary Working for a growing district energy company, the Accounts Payable Specialist working with the Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for all activities in the accounts payable function. The Accounts Payable Specialist documents important key processes and ensures they are working properly to guarantee timely and accurate payment of invoices. In addition, the position is heavily involved in processing invoices in a decentralized organizational structure. This position must be able to rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. This position must exhibit a commitment to excellence and hold themselves to high standards in all areas. The Accounts Payable Specialist reports to the Accounts Payable Manager and has direct contact with all levels of broader organization. This is a full-time exempt position located at our corporate office in Boston, MA. Responsibilities

  • Participate in the management of the AP process
    • Ensure invoice processing management
    • Assist with management of pay cycles (Checks, EFTs, ACH, Wires, Single Use Card Payment)
  • Vendor management and creation
    • Assist with the process for new vendors, ensuring completion of new vendor request form and other required documentation; working with the procurement team to approve and enter new vendors into the CMMS and ERP systems.
  • Managing corporate invoices
    • Input department invoices into Maximo and obtain department head approvals
  • Vendor support - corporate support resource to help resolve issues with vendors
  • Assist with 1099 annual filings
Basic Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including large volume data manipulation and analysis
  • High level of integrity, reliability, and work ethic
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the company
