The position requires providing care to adults and geriatric patients. The nursing staff is responsible for monitoring vital signs, managing dysrhythmias, and providing non-invasive airway management. To assist with patient care, the unit has PCTs available for routine tasks. Nurses will be tasked with managing PICC lines and central lines. The staffing ratios on day shifts are typically 5:1 and 6:1 on night shifts. In rare cases, staffing ratios may expand to 7 patients. Nurses may be required to float between like units as needed. All travelers must have the ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias. Daily census is expected to be around 19 patients. The unit also works with various interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care. Nurses are required to have recent experience in an MS/Tele setting. Computerized documentation experience is critical for this role. Candidates are expected to work every other weekend. There are additional team supports from pharmacy, physical therapy, and respiratory services. The patient population commonly includes cases such as acute respiratory failure, CHF, and pneumonia. Nurses should be familiar with managing BIPAP, CPAP, and other respiratory equipment. Collaboration with rapid response teams is essential to ensure patient safety. Preferred candidates will have experience with Epic charting software. This role requires flexibility in scheduling and a commitment to high-quality patient care.
