Job Title: Patient Care Associate Location: New York, NY 10019 Shift: Monday to Friday, Standard Business Hours (Multiple Shifts Available) Schedule: 37.5 Hours/Week Duration: 3+ Months Contract (Strong Possibility of Extension) Pay Rate: $21/hour Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Associate to join a dynamic clinical care team in New York, NY. This position supports direct patient care and daily operational tasks within a specialty service area, helping to create a patient-focused environment of healing, safety, and comfort. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with daily living activities including bathing, feeding, toileting, and ambulation.
  • Measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration).
  • Perform clinical procedures such as EKGs, specimen collection, and post-mortem care.
  • Support dietary functions (menu delivery, tray service, supplement preparation, and reporting dietary changes).
  • Maintain patient room cleanliness and environmental safety.
  • Provide one-to-one or close observation for safety, elopement, or suicide prevention cases.
  • Assist nursing staff during selected clinical procedures.
  • Respond to patient call systems and relay messages appropriately.
  • Perform transportation duties: move patients via wheelchair or stretcher, deliver supplies and specimens.
  • Maintain medical records, update logs, and utilize clinical communication systems.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Completion of a formal Patient Care Associate training program.
  • 3 to 9 months of prior healthcare experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and remain flexible under pressure.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).
  • Physically able to perform tasks in a demanding clinical environment.
