Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Maintains public and common areas of the facility in a safe, orderly and sanitary condition
- Must be able to identify and report need for repairs, unsafe conditions and respond appropriately in emergency situations
- Works in areas occupied by patients with known infectious diseases and will handle and transport infectious waste
- Cleans interior and exterior windows on a scheduled basis
- Conducts routine inspections of own area of assignment to ensure that departmental quality standards are achieved and maintained
Minimum Requirements:
- One year of previous experience working in an institutional/health care housekeeping environment, preferred
- Ability to communicate at a basic level, orally and in writing, in English
- Ability to measure and proportion cleaning chemicals and solvents and calculate linen and supplies needed for work assignment
- Ability to work independently, without direct supervision
- Able to meet physical demands of position: Push and pull carts and equipment, up to 100 lbs. Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Able to use necessary cleaning equipment including: carpet cleaning equipment, wet and dry vacuum
- Able to measure and proportion cleaning chemicals and solvents
- Able to calculate the amount of linen and supplies needed for work assignment
- Able to pass background checks for a licensed community
- Able to wear personal protective equipment including masks and gloves as required by the CDC
