Pay Information $2,988 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum of 1 year of PCU/IMC experience within the last 3 years License: NY state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - PCU/IMC experience within the last 3 years - Familiarity with telemetry and medical-surgical patients - Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias - Experience with IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips - Knowledge of managing central lines and administering blood products - Ability to perform phlebotomy and peripheral line care - Familiarity with post MI, renal failure, and total joint replacement care Description: This position is for a Mixed Acuity Unit involving PCU, MS Tele, and Medical-Surgical patients. The nurse will care for patients with varying acuity levels, with ratios adjusted based on patient needs. Experience is required specifically in PCU or IMC settings. Ratios are typically 1:3-5 during day/weekend shifts and 1:3-6 during night shifts. The role includes the management of specific patient diagnoses such as surgical pre- and post-operative care in various specialties including ENT, general surgery, trauma, and orthopedic procedures. Travelers with the necessary experience will be considered, and there may be a requirement to float to sister units. Preferred experience includes familiarity with special procedures and equipment, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary support system.
