Title: Laboratory Technician Location:1800 E. President Street, Savannah, GA 31404 Pay Rate: $25.00 /HR on W2 Qualifications: BS in Chemistry or related field with previous laboratory experience including wet chemistry analytical techniques a plus. 2 years of applicable laboratory experience can satisfy education requirements. Ability to support laboratory overtime requirements • Effective time management skills in order to complete assigned tasks in a safe manner • MS-Office proficiency (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) • Communicate clearly and effectively • Basic troubleshooting abilities i.e. cycle power, check tubing, error code comprehension • Contributes to the review and modification of lab procedures Responsibilities: • Follow site environment, health, and safety requirements • Operate computer controlled instrumentation and be able to store and extract data i.e. analytical balances, microwave digestion ovens, surface area analysis, atomic absorption, x-ray fluorescence/diffraction, particle size analysis. • Routinely calibrate and run checks on select instrumentation i.e. pH meter, AA. • Maintains sample retain inventory discarding samples in a timely manner • Conduct quality control testing on all products manufactured by the Client Savannah site facility according to established SOPs and work instructions. • Prepare quality control production samples such as microspheres, zeolites, FCC catalysts and alumina. • Prepare environmental effluent samples • Prepare final product samples and documentation for shipment release and immediately report any non-conformances • Recording experimental observations and data entry • Interpreting control charts and graphs and report out of specification results per site requirements • Communicate accurate analytical information to operations personnel • Review and request updates to laboratory procedures • Actively participates in team meetings, communicating issues or needs of the lab • Basic LIMS usage - data transfer, data entry, release, launch, and deletion of samples • Non-routine sample handling in LIMS • Review stock levels of laboratory consumables and restock as necessary • Ability to read and interpret standard operating procedures • Basic laboratory knowledge including but not limited to: dilutions, pipetting, mathematic calculations Comments/Special Instructions Technician will follow the Dupont schedule once fully trained. Training will be from 6AM-3PM Monday-Friday with an hour lunch break. Estimated time of training is one month but can be prolonged if needed. The Dupont schedule alternates days and nights with breaks in between. A typical work month the technician will work 15 out of the 30 days. Shifts are 12 hours starting at either 6AM or 6PM. The schedule resets on a 4 week rotation and every 4th week the technician gets the week off. Since the shifts are 12 hours some of the weeks have built in guaranteed overtime pay.
