The IT Manager plays a pivotal role in leading Catalyst Family's Information Technology function, ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of systems that support our mission-driven work. This position provides both strategic and hands-on leadership to a team of IT professionals and vendor partners, overseeing IT infrastructure, operations, cybersecurity, and support services across the organization. Working closely with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, the IT Manager is instrumental in the planning, implementation, and optimization of technology systems to align with organizational goals. The role includes establishing IT policies and procedures, maintaining compliance, enhancing cybersecurity posture, supporting business application integrations, and driving continuous improvement in service delivery to staff. Additionally, the IT Manager provides financial oversight for the department, including budgeting, vendor management, and cost optimization, to ensure efficient and effective use of technology resources. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and administer Catalyst Family's Information Technology infrastructure, systems, and services across all regions and programs.
- Supervise and support the system administrator on selection, delivery, accessibility, and security of all software and hardware applications, both on-premises and online, as well as development and application of all IT policies.
- Provide financial oversight for the IT department, including the development and management of the annual IT budget; evaluate technology investments, manage vendor relationships and contracts, and drive cost-effective solutions that align with organizational priorities.
- Partners with team members to develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity strategies, policies, and best practices to safeguard the organization's data, systems, and networks; monitor and respond to potential threats, ensuring ongoing security awareness and compliance across the agency.
- Manage the IT Supervisor and vendor partners, including assigning tasks, setting priorities, and evaluating performance.
- Oversee the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and support of all hardware, software, and networking systems.
- Oversee IT equipment and software asset management to ensure compliance with internal and external controls, fiscal accountability, and efficient operations.
- Coordinate and support the setup and maintenance of network and connectivity solutions across office and center locations.
- Direct the allocation of resources to achieve timely outcomes and measurable goals within an allocated budget; participate in collaborative planning processes to ensure high-quality services at the lowest cost to the organization.
- Serve as a key stakeholder in project planning and system upgrades, including cross-functional collaboration with operations, HR, and finance teams.
- Oversee help desk operations, ensuring timely and effective resolution of IT support requests and issues.
- Maintain asset inventory and lifecycle management for all IT equipment and software licenses.
- Support staff training and promote technology adoption through clear communication and technical guidance.
- Monitor system performance and initiate improvements to optimize speed, reliability, and functionality.
- Collaborate with leadership to align IT strategy with organizational goals and educational outcomes.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure Catalyst Family's IT infrastructure remains modern and efficient.
Required Qualifications: The MINIMUM formal relevant education required by the position. Relevant experience/certifications in lieu of formal education will be considered.
- BA/BS in computer science, management information science, information technology, electrical engineering, or equivocal certifications.
- Proven experience managing IT teams, vendors, and service providers.
- Strong understanding of IT systems, hardware, software, and network administration.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft networking technologies (e.g., AzureAD, Office 365 administration).
- Prior experience in a nonprofit or education-focused organization.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (e.g., Azure, AWS) and SaaS-based applications.
- Experience supporting hybrid work environments and remote users.

Working Conditions:
- Generally pleasant working conditions.
- Less than 50% of daily assignments involve prolonged physical effort.
- Travel: Up to 30%, including at least four visits per year, to meet with direct reports on-site at various locations.
