The RN will assist in diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, provide direct patient care before, during, and after procedures, and ensure a safe and supportive environment for patients undergoing cardiovascular treatments. Job Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures and obtain informed consent.
- Monitor and assess patients throughout the procedure, including vital signs, sedation levels, and overall condition.
- Administer medications and intravenous therapy as ordered by the physician.
- Assist physicians during procedures such as angiograms, angioplasty, and pacemaker insertions.
- Maintain sterile technique and assist with the setup and operation of specialized equipment.
- Provide post-procedure care, including monitoring for complications and educating patients and families.
- Document all nursing care, assessments, and responses accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the interventional cardiology team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of practice.
- Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ASN or BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Minimum 1-2 years of recent experience in a Cath Lab or critical care setting preferred.
- ACLS and BLS certification required.
- Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, hemodynamics, and sterile technique.
- Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and patient-care skills.
