Salary: $44,320.00 - $70,256.00 Annually Location : Klamath Falls, OR Job Type: Full-time Exempt Job Number: 2025-91 Department: Academic Affairs Opening Date: 07/11/2025 Description The AI Coordinator will lead the college-wide initiative to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) tools and strategies into teaching, learning, and administrative operations. This role is responsible for training faculty, staff, students, and administrators on the appropriate, ethical, and effective use of AI technologies. The AI Coordinator will work one-on-one, in small groups, and in classroom settings to build digital fluency and foster a culture of innovation and responsible AI adoption across the institution.   • Training & Education
  • Design and deliver workshops, tutorials, and short courses on AI tools and applications tailored to faculty, staff, students, and administrators.
  • Provide individualized coaching and small-group sessions to support AI integration in academic and operational contexts.
  • Develop and maintain instructional materials, guides, and resources for AI literacy and safety.
  • Strategic Integration
  • Collaborate with academic and workforce departments and administrative units to identify opportunities for AI-enhanced workflows and instruction.
  • Assist employees and students in developing AI-supported strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and learning outcomes.
  • Support curriculum development that incorporates AI tools in pedagogically sound ways.
  • Policy & Ethics
  • Promote awareness of ethical considerations, data privacy, and institutional policies related to AI use.
  • Serve as a resource for interpreting and applying AI-related guidelines and best practices.
  • Innovation & Support
  • Stay current with emerging AI technologies and trends in higher education.
  • Pilot and evaluate new AI tools for potential adoption at KCC.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to leadership on AI-related initiatives and infrastructure needs.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • If assigned, this position may require administrative work on grant-funded program activities and reporting.
  • Contributes to various special assignments as needed by department and/or institution.
  • Serves on College committees as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE
  • Flexibility as a self-starter who takes initiative and accountability for projects: sound judgment, and the ability to make independent decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient and accurate typing skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
  • May occasionally lift, carry, stoop, and bend (up to 20 lbs.).
  • Frequently moving from stationary sitting positions to standing and walking.
  • May require occasional evening or weekend sessions to accommodate training schedules.
Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning or related interdisciplinary field
  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools in educational or professional settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to teach and support diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with ethical and legal considerations in AI use.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in faculty development, instructional design, or technology training.
  • Knowledge of community college environments and adult learning principles.
