THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE: The Lead Engineer is responsible for the design and build of intuitive Power BI solutions that empower the business stakeholders to make informed decisions in a timely manner. They collaborate with data engineers, analysts and business teams to deliver scalable robust innovative analytical solutions. This position plays a key role in transforming raw data in to meaningful and actional insights on our big data platform to enhance the operational experience of our business teams. YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY:
- Design and develop interactive, visually appealing Power BI reports and dashboards adhering to the best practices for optimal performance.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Power BI data workspace design related to subject areas covering Retail Sales/Planning, Supply Chain, Customer Analytics, Finance, Merchandise Planning to share and disseminate data throughout the Enterprise.
- Analyze source data and define optimal data models for reporting and analytics delivery.
- Manage Jira backlog, dependencies, and end-to-end delivery responsibilities, including testing and entitlement, to meet business demand.
- Prepare and deliver presentations summarizing insights and conclusions for executives, leadership teams, and business partners in scheduled analytics meetings.
- Investigate issues in model building and production phases, documenting KPI, PoC, workflow, and data sources clearly.
- Pro-active monitoring & reporting on system performance KPI's providing visibility into resource utilization of different workloads such as ETL & BI tools.
- Conduct training sessions for end-users to enhance their Power BI skills.
- Collaborate with cross-functional technologists ad business partners across the organization to gather requirements, solve new problems and deliver quality results.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate the implementation and performance of Power BI reports and dashboards and recommend performance improvements.
- Mentor other team members on best practices.
- Support the operations of the deployed solutions, investigates complex issues and assists with the resolution and implementation of preventive measures.
- Assist with evaluation of Proof of Concepts (POCs), project estimation and engages in performance testing and tuning activities for large data sets.
THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or applicable work experience.
- 8+ years of experience in design and development of analytics solutions leveraging Power BI, Tableau or other BI tools.
- 5+ years of experience in design and development of data lakes, data warehouses and BI platforms.
- Have a passion for new technologies, continuous improvement and actively involved with the team to design new data solutions, monitoring and alerting policies for data solutions.
- Expertise in DAX, M or relevant programming languages, SQL/NoSQL Database systems.
- Experience in test automations, deployment processes using GitHub, Jenkins and Unix/Linux shell scripts.
- Hands on experience developing complex business intelligence solutions based on best practices.
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies, exposure to cloud technologies and Experience in Retail or similar industry is preferred.
- Proactive and able to catch issues before failures.
- Possess a strong work ethic; takes pride in producing a quality product and a strong team player.
- Work with production support and project consultants in an onshore / offshore model.
- Support off-hours production issues and code deployments as needed.
- Minimal travel required (training/conferences)
The pay range for this position is $102,900.00 - $155,000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company's bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs.
