Engineering Manager Rochester, NY JK Executive Strategies is proud to partner with an established manufacturing firm in search of an Engineering Manager to join its team! In this pivotal role, the Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering projects from concept through completion. This includes supervising a talented team of engineers, driving innovation through new product development, and implementing strategic initiatives that align with business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and project management skills, with a proven ability to manage budgets, allocate resources efficiently, and deliver results on time and within scope. This position requires close collaboration with both internal cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure the successful delivery of engineering solutions that support long-term organizational success. Responsibilities
- Lead development and implementation of designs and specifications for products. Work cross functionally to identify consumer needs and conception of product design solutions to optimize business opportunities. Will lead projects from concept to commercialization and ensure fulfillment of business case.
- Provide leadership in developing and delivering team commitments with respect to product performance and costs.
- High level of creativity and vast knowledge of a wide variety of materials and methods of solving engineering problems. Ability to systematically analyze complex problems, draw relevant conclusions and implement appropriate solutions.
- Develop and manage project timelines, milestones, risk profiles and supply cross-functional tasks.
- Lead Engineering technical activities to improve production processes capability, quality, and labor efficiency. Assure sound business processes are utilized in problem solving to assure efficient resource deployment and effective manufacturing operations.
- Manages, resolves, and escalates (as appropriate) issues to ensure quality deliverables. Minimizes exposure and risk on project and ensures appropriate action.
- Focuses on important information and looks past symptoms to determine underlying causes of problems and issues. Applies appropriate technical knowledge, information, and expertise in decision making.
- Effectively manage stakeholders, subject matter experts and other internal groups through effective communication.
- Utilize external resources as needed to complete Engineering projects on time and cost effectively. Be able to blend external and internal resources to create a strong effective Engineering team that is right sized at all times.
- Lead team to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations and insights to key stake holders.
- Support the creation of strong business cases by using business judgement
- Assist with and participate in any special assignments and projects as deemed necessary by management. Perform special projects assigned to continue to meet the business requirements and improve customer service.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or other related technical degree
- 10 + years' experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Project Management, Operations, Engineering, or Product Management
- Experience in developing customer products preferred
- Ability to effectively present information both verbally and in written form
- Successful in navigating change, solving problems and consulting with cross-functional business partners
- High degree of project management skills, and proven ability to guide processes, while developing creative solutions to meet changing business needs.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
