Pay Information $1,976 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown Duration: 12 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years, first timers accepted License: GA or Compact license required Certifications: BLS and ACLS required Must-Have: Strong clinical skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment Description: The unit admits patients from CICU, MSICU, acute care floors, and ED. Post-operative care for CABG, thoracic surgeries, and vascular surgeries is required. Care for respiratory failure with multiple treatment modalities except for invasive mechanical ventilation. Management of cardiac arrhythmias, DKA, GI bleeds, trauma, CVA, seizures, CIWA, metabolic disorders, renal failure, and GI disorders. Address hypertensive emergencies and sepsis in patients. The nurse-patient ratio is typically 1:3-4. The unit has 32 beds with an average daily census of 21. Familiarity with unit systems including Epic and Pyxis is beneficial. Navy blue scrubs are required. Travelers may be required to float within the facility. If major holidays fall during the assignment period, expectations include working those holidays. Full compliance is required to start on time. Candidates must be available to submit core items and complete required labs promptly after signing the contract. References from two supervisory individuals are preferred at the time of submission.
