Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain HPE NonStop systems in production and development environments
- Monitor system performance, availability, and health to ensure 24/7 operational readiness
- Perform system startups, shutdowns, cold loads, and recovery procedures
- Configure and enforce security policies and audit settings
- Manage user access and respond to unauthorized access incidents
- Conduct system performance tuning using diagnostic tools such as MEASURE
- Plan for capacity and optimize system resources proactively
- Implement and test backup and disaster recovery strategies
- Apply OS patches, firmware updates, and security hardening
- Support high-availability configurations and fault-tolerant systems
- Coordinate with development and operations teams for code releases and system changes
- Troubleshoot Severity 1 and 2 incidents and perform root cause analysis
- Maintain accurate documentation, runbooks, and configuration records
- Participate in on-call support and off-hours maintenance rotations
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 7+ years of hands-on experience administering HPE NonStop (Tandem) systems
- Expertise in Client and OSS operating environments, including tools like FUP, SCF, and TACL
- Proficient in writing and using TACL scripts for automation
- Experience with Pathway server configuration, Enscribe file structures, and NetBatch
- Strong understanding of EMS configuration and monitoring for system alerts
- Familiarity with networking concepts including Cluster I/O Modules (CLIM) and IP setup
- Experience in environments governed by strict SLAs and operational uptime requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- HPE NonStop technical certification
- 10+ years of HPE NonStop systems administration experience
- Experience supporting mission-critical transportation or logistics platforms
- Working knowledge of NonStop SQL/MP and SQL/MX
- Exposure to integration technologies like REST APIs, iTPWebServer, and NSHTTP
