Akkodis is seeking a System Administrator for a Contract job with a client in Owings Mills, MD . The ideal candidate responsibilities include configuring and maintaining backup systems like Veritas NetBackup and monitoring storage performance across Wintel, Linux, and VMware platforms. Rate Range: $68/hour to $70/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. System Administrator job responsibilities include:
- Install, configure, and maintain servers and system software to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Monitor system health and troubleshoot issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to maintain system security and integrity.
- Perform regular backups and recovery operations to safeguard data and ensure business continuity.
- Apply system updates, patches, and security configurations in compliance with IT policies.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and changes for auditing and support purposes.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or related roles.
- Proven expertise in managing storage technologies such as NetApp, Dell/EMC SAN, and Azure NetApp Files.
- Ability to provide 24/7 support, including participation in on-call rotations and after-hours maintenance.
