Position Description
Join our Ryder family as a Permanent Full-Time Senior Diesel Technician in our Truck Fleet! We are looking for skilled individuals to maintain and repair heavy-duty vehicles.
- Hourly Pay: $28.00 per hour
- Certification Bonus: Earn $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: Up to $500 every quarter
- Sign-On Bonus: Receive $1,750 after 30 days and another $1,750 after 90 days
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, weekends off
- Hours: First Shift, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or technical certification preferred
- Basic tools required
- Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
- Routine preventative maintenance experience (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Basic diagnostics and repairs including AC and electrical systems required
- Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred
- Other certifications as required by location
- ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy and medium-duty equipment
- Basic computer skills required
- This position requires you to drive Ryder vehicles; you must obtain a CDL within 6 months of hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check
Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Conduct standard and preventive maintenance
- Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems
- Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
- Interact with customers to determine the nature of complaints
- Utilize shop management systems for documentation
- Work in accordance with federal and corporate compliance guidelines
- Mentor lower-level technicians
- Complete required OEM online diagnostic training
