This individual will work closely with students, staff, and parents to promote a culture of respect, responsibility, and academic excellence. The Dean of Discipline will be responsible for implementing disciplinary policies, resolving behavioral issues, and supporting faculty in creating a productive and respectful school community. Educational Background and Certifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is required. A Master's Degree in Educational Leadership is preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience in a school environment is necessary.
- Certifications in school leadership, administration, or discipline-related areas can be beneficial.
Qualifications:
- Strong Leadership: Ability to inspire, guide, and motivate both students and staff in maintaining a positive school climate.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively addressing students, parents, staff, and external partners.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to quickly and effectively address behavioral issues, applying a fair and consistent approach.
- Understanding of School Policies: In-depth knowledge of school discipline policies, state regulations, and best practices in educational leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintaining Discipline: - Ensure adherence to the school's code of conduct and implement the school's discipline procedures.
- Address and manage behavioral incidents promptly and effectively, promoting a restorative approach where applicable.
Supervision: - Supervise students during school hours, including in hallways, the cafeteria, during lunch periods, and in other designated areas.
- Maintain a safe and respectful atmosphere throughout the entire school campus.
Addressing Behavioral Issues: - Provide direct support to teachers and staff in managing individual behavioral problems.
- Develop and implement intervention strategies and preventative measures for students demonstrating behavioral challenges.
- Monitor and follow up on student behavior after disciplinary actions.
Communication: - Serve as the primary liaison between students, staff, and parents on disciplinary matters.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with parents and guardians regarding student behavior and the interventions implemented.
Record Keeping: - Accurately maintain records of student behavior, disciplinary actions, and follow-up actions.
- Regularly report to the Principal on student behavior trends, policy effectiveness, and ongoing disciplinary issues.
Policy Implementation: - Assist in the development, review, and implementation of school policies related to student conduct, discipline, and safety.
- Ensure policies are followed consistently and fairly across the school.
- Assist with the implementation of the RBC Drug/Alcohol policies, including vape detector monitoring.
Collaboration with Support Services: - Work closely with school counselors, social workers, and other support staff to address the academic, emotional, and behavioral needs of students.
- Develop strategies for at-risk students and collaborate on interventions.
Restorative Practices and Student Support: - Develop and promote restorative practices within the school to help students learn from disciplinary experiences and foster a culture of accountability.
- Support initiatives to address bullying, harassment, and other harmful behaviors.
Attendance Monitoring: - Assist in monitoring student attendance, tardiness, and follow-up on habitual offenders.
Weekend and Evening Functions: - Participate in school functions outside of regular school hours as assigned by the Principal, such as school events, parent meetings, or staff development opportunities.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: The position shall be a ten-month position. ANNUAL EVALUATION: The Principal will evaluate the performance of this job annually. **The salary range for this position is $50,000 to $65,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
