Job Status: Grant-funded

FLSA Status: Exempt

Schedule: 35 hours/week

FUNCTION:Oversee the Division of Family Services, and the Mobility Mentoring Program

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for overseeing the Family Services Division, under the guidance of the EVP of Programs.

  • Complete and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as requested by the Program Planning, Research and Evaluation Department.

  • Assist the EVP of Programs in the hiring or Human Resources oversight of divisional staff.

  • Direct up to 4 Mobility Mentors and up to 2 Mobility Mentor Navigators, EISEP Case Managers and Outreach Specialist including performance reviews and staff observations.

  • Oversee the mobility mentoring and motivational interviewing carried out by staff members in the Family Services Division, including training new and current staff members.

  • Work directly with clients in the Family Services Division, as required by any staffing limitations.

  • Attend Urban League of Rochester functions and events.

  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the EVP of Programs.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree with a background in case management, mobility mentoring or motivational interviewing.

  • Master's degree in a relevant area (i.e., case management, counselling, human services) preferred.

  • Knowledge of mobility mentoring required; knowledge of case management preferred.

  • Requires 3+ years of experience in client interactions or management.

  • Requires 2+ years of experience in managing or overseeing other staff members.

  • Experience in civic engagement, financial planning preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently meet deadlines and requirements from supervisors.

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.

  • Capacity to manage multiple projects and assignments, often with competing deadlines.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines.

  • Knowledge of the dynamics of race and class within the political economy of contemporary urban America.

  • Competency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Access, and Excel.

  • Must be able to handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.

Salary Description

$55,000 - $60,000 annually
