Department/Unit: Medical/Surgical Hospitalist - E3

Work Shift: Night

Salary Range: $72,072.00 - $74,229.26

Join our dedicated team as a Registered Professional Nurse, responsible for providing exceptional patient care in our General Medicine unit. In this role, you will assess, coordinate, and manage the needs of assigned patients throughout their care episodes, with a focus on their journey toward discharge. You'll have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a caregiving team to ensure that compassionate and competent care is delivered uniformly to our patients.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing physician orders and administering medications, including initiating IVs and performing necessary treatments and procedures.
  • Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to assess and identify the condition of patients.
  • Assessing and evaluating patient needs and their responses to the care rendered.
  • Applying sound nursing judgment in your patient care management decisions.
  • Providing primary and emergency care for various injuries and illnesses.
  • Administering over-the-counter and prescription medications as directed.
  • Collaborating with the nursing team to establish a comprehensive Plan of Care for all patients.
  • Guiding and directing ancillary personnel while maintaining high professional nursing standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of a professional academic nursing program resulting in a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in New York State.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required, with some departments needing additional certifications.
  • Previous experience as a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) or related nursing assistance is preferred.
  • Commitment to improving job performance through continuing education.
  • Knowledge of quality concepts and the ability to apply problem-solving techniques to enhance patient care quality.
