Akkodis is seeking a Developer for a contract with a client in Des Moines, IA. Candidates must have hands-on experience in RPG, CL, DB2, and AS400 application support and development to be considered for this role. Rate Range: $45/hour to 49/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Developer job responsibilities include:
- Develop and support applications using RPG, CL, DB2, and SQL on the AS400 platform.
- Manage and troubleshoot batch jobs, ensuring smooth execution and timely resolution of issues.
- Collaborate with business teams to gather requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
- Utilize tools like Aldon and OnDemand for version control and document management.
- Apply Object-Oriented Programming principles to enhance code structure and maintainability.
- Work within Agile frameworks, using tools like JIRA to track progress and manage tasks.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6-8 years of experience in AS400 development and application support.
- Strong hands-on experience with RPG, CL, DB2, and batch job management in AS400 environments.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA, along with a basic understanding of CONTROL-M and the insurance domain (Annuities).
