The Role
- Lead mechanical design, analysis, prototyping, and testing of novel sensor and aircraft hardware.
- Contribute to clean-sheet system architectures and mechanical development.
- Drive trade studies and risk-reduction testing for design validation.
- Interface with suppliers and manage component fabrication.
- Develop practical test setups and assist in manufacturing transition.
- Help build realistic project timelines in collaboration with engineering leadership.
The Background Profile
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or relevant Engineering discipline; Master's Degree a plus
- 5+ years of experience with mechanical systems, mechanisms, or aircraft structures
- Full product lifecycle experience from concept to production
- Familiarity and broad capability with SWaP-constrained systems, small UAS, and/or model aircraft strongly preferred
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, with hands-on prototyping and test experience
- Strong understanding of materials, structural analysis, sealing, and fabrication methods including the development of lightweight metallic and composite mechanisms
- Ability to work onsite at the facility in the Paradise Valley, AZ area and comfortable in fast-paced R&D environments
