In conjunction with the Associate Director of Student Engagement and Leadership, the Program Coordinator for Student Organizations is responsible for the development, implementation, and assessment of a comprehensive, strategic student organization process. This individual will assume primary responsibility for all Recognized Student Organization (RSO) registration, training, and resources. This position will also assume responsibility for programming and administration within the Center for Organizations, Vision, and Engagement (COVE). This position will lead the hiring, training, and direct supervision of undergraduate student employees within the COVE Graphics Garage, a design and printing services entity. This role will serve as an integral part of a collaborative team of Program Coordinators providing support to the areas of student activities, Fraternity and Sorority Life, Civic Engagement, Leadership Development, and Involvement. This team of Program Coordinators must all be committed to fostering the social, artistic, intellectual, educational, cultural, and recreational development of students through planned programs and activities. - Bachelor's Degree in relevant field plus 5 years of experience, or Master's Degree in relevant field.
- Experience working with Student Organizations and/or student activities programs.
- Possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and the willingness to work and communicate in a highly collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of student development and experience working with and advising college students.
- Experience in the planning and management of small to large scale events and programs.
- Experience with online student organization platform (e.g. 'Engage', 'Presence', or 'Campus Groups').
- Experience in reviewing and executing performer/activity contracts.
- Experience working with budgets.
- Experience supervising graduate assistants, and/or student staff members.
- Ability to develop student employee training programs.
- Understanding of the importance of collaboration within the unit and the university.
- Ability to problem solve and readily adapt to change.
- An understanding of student development, student life, and university processes and business.
- Ability to use and adapt to current technology and new technology and software.
- Ability to interact effectively with faculty, staff, student, and external groups.

- Review and Approve Events, Forms, and Inquiries within MyOrgs.
- Assist RSO's in areas of event planning, fundraising, artwork approvals, budgeting, and more.
- Maintain a connection with Business Services to ensure Student Faculty Organization (SFO) procedures are followed.
- Oversee RSO Annual Registration Process and New RSO Application Process.
- Serve as Primary Adviser for the Student Organization Committee.
- Conduct RSO Officer Fall Training.
- Develop and implement a strategic RSO Officer continued training and engagement program.
- Develop a comprehensive RSO Adviser training and approval process.
- Provide consultation to RSO's regarding conflict resolution, risk management, succession planning, and more.
- Assist in the oversight of additional RSO procedures (storage locker assignments, ID Access, etc.).
- Collaborate with Campus Recreation to support UWL Sport Clubs.

- Assist in review and development of applicable contracts for RSO events and programs.
- Serve as the liaison between the RSO's and the faculty and staff at UW-La Crosse.

- Assist with the oversite of large-scale events including, but not limited to: Sample the City, Eagle Fest, and Spring Spectacular.
- Oversee the coordination of logistical planning for programs and events, in collaboration with areas of the University including, but not limited to: Campus Dining, Facilities Management, Parking, and University Police.
