A Nurse Manager is a Registered Nurse who functions within the Nursing organizational structure and has responsibilities to plan, direct, control, coordinate and implement policies and procedures/and or programs relative to unit operations and nursing services. Responsible for overall management of assigned unit(s) 24 hours a day. Acts as an Administrative liaison between the Nursing Director, Nursing Administrative Supervisors and the staff related to nursing service problems on assigned weekends, holidays and off tours. QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Required: Graduate of accredited school of Nursing BSN or MSN degree preferred. License(s) Required: Licensed and currently registered as a professional nurse in New York State. BLS, ACLS certification. Experience/Skills Minimum of three (3) years' experience including one year in a leadership position. Evidence of excellent communication (both written and oral), interpersonal organization, critical thinking, problem solving and leadership skills. WORKING CONDITIONS: Thirty-seven and one half hours (37 ½) per week evenings 4-12:30am with some flexibility for night shift if need be. JOB HAZARDS: Lifting and moving heavy patients or equipment. Needle sticks lifting and moving heavy supplies.
