Job Summary The assistant provost for experiential learning will play a pivotal role in advancing Lindenwood University (LU)'s mission by embedding experiential and engaged learning (EL) into the curriculum for all students. These experiences promote academic excellence, skill development, and real-world application, ensuring that graduates are prepared to make a measurable impact in their communities and careers. In partnership with the Provost, the assistant provost provides strategic leadership for LU's experiential learning initiatives by collaborating with faculty, deans, EL liaisons, and advisory boards to expand and enhance opportunities across disciplines. As a key member of the Academic Affairs leadership team, this individual also works with corporate and community partners to develop innovative, high-quality EL experiences.

Academic Leadership Teaching and Learning
- Advances Lindenwood's leadership in experiential learning by building upon existing initiatives and expanding opportunities for students
- Works with faculty and administrators to integrate EL throughout the student experience, ensuring sustainability and academic excellence
- Drives the development of innovative experiential learning models that enhance student engagement and success
- Supports faculty in adopting best practices to improve the quality and impact of EL offerings
- Promotes a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and student-centered learning
Leadership and Strategic Thinking
- Collaborates with University stakeholders to develop and implement strategic plans that align EL with LU's mission, vision, and priorities
- Participates in University policy and planning committees to ensure EL is integrated into broader institutional strategies
- Serves as part of the Academic Affairs leadership team, advancing the mission and vision of the University as assigned by the Provost
- Leads engaged and experiential learning opportunities, fostering collaboration across departments and creating synergies that enhance EL initiatives
- Models, supports, and holds others accountable to the University's values
Service Human Resources Management
- Consults with the Provost and Vice President for Human Resources on faculty performance issues
- Monitors and promotes faculty engagement
Administrative Duties
- Ensures policies, personnel, systems, technology, and resources are in place to support high-quality EL instruction and programming
Communication and Collaboration
- Builds and maintains strategic partnerships with local, national, and global organizations to expand EL opportunities
- Serves as a key liaison between LU and corporate/community partners, fostering mutually beneficial collaborations
- Represents Lindenwood in external initiatives and professional organizations related to experiential learning
- Supports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence
Subject Matter Expertise and Scholarship Lifelong Learning
- Demonstrates command of area of specialization, as well as desire for continued growth
- Maintains professional relationships with colleagues and engages in professional development activities to augment existing skills and/or develop new ones

Required Qualifications - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.
- Master's degree from an accredited institution required
- Terminal degree preferred
- Previous experience both as a faculty member and in academic administration
- Prior work experience with academic policies and procedures in a university setting
- At least five years of successful administrative experience preferred

- Proven ability to build collaborative relationships in a shared governance academic environment
- Experience developing and sustaining external partnerships with community and corporate stakeholders
