Job Description: Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Float

Location: Huntington, WV

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) 25701

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Weekly Breakdown: Weekly Gross: $2,074.00 Per Week On W2(Taxable): $828.00 Per Week Stipend(Non-Taxable): $1,246.00 Per Week

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with Medical Surgical Float experience to join the team at Cabell Huntington Hospital, a Level II Trauma, major teaching hospital. This role supports patient care across the 2 North/South Float Ortho unit with a night shift schedule. First-time travelers are welcome, provided they have experience with the Cerner charting system. The candidate must be willing to float within their scope of practice to meet facility needs.

Responsibilities:

• Provide professional nursing care for patients in the Medical Surgical Float unit, including orthopedic float duties.
• Administer medications, treatments, and monitor patient conditions according to hospital protocols.
• Utilize Cerner electronic health record (EHR) for documentation and charting.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Adapt to varying patient loads and float across units as needed.
• Meet full-time weekend requirements: 4 Saturdays and 4 Sundays per 8-week schedule.
• Maintain compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse licensure in good standing.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required; 2 years preferred.
• Experience with Cerner charting system required.
• Orthopedic float experience preferred.
• Ability to work night shifts and meet weekend scheduling needs.

• First-time travelers accepted if Cerner experience present.

Locals within 50 miles not accepted; travel candidates only.
