Overview

The Quality Manager will provide leadership in the daily activities of all departments within the facility and collaborate with the Engineering team to resolve issues and enhance quality. Responsibilities include managing product and process data collection, the Corrective Action System, calibration, internal audits, and key customer activities. The individual should have comprehensive knowledge of TS16949 Quality System Requirements, OEM expectations, and the Quality Operating System of manufacturing and distribution.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily quality support to manufacturing and quality assurance through plans and procedures.
  • Ensure quality team coverage on the production floor and in lab testing, adhering to all testing and control plan requirements.
  • Coordinate and participate in MSA testing; work to improve measurement results with corporate and plant teams.
  • Ensure all measurement gauges are calibrated, maintained, used correctly, and test procedures are followed.
  • Validate compliance with quality control inspections and sampling techniques to meet standards.
  • Maintain adherence to the plant Control Plan, process, and product specifications.
  • Oversee incoming material requirements and sampling procedures for components.
  • Coordinate capability studies with the process engineering team to understand and improve plant processes.
  • Research product defects, test performance issues, and plant rejects to recommend improvements.
  • Assist with quality audits and reporting.
  • Collaborate on problem-solving initiatives, linking actions to Control Plans, PFMEAs, inspection points, and customer returns.
  • Manage corrective actions for internal KPIs and external customer issues.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities

    Provide technical guidance and supervision to QA Engineers, QS Coordinators, Inspectors, Technicians, and clerks. Responsibilities include training, performance evaluations, hiring, disciplinary actions, and employee development to ensure accountability and policy adherence.

    Relationships

    Maintain positive relationships with corporate, employees, customers, and vendors to facilitate resolution of quality issues.

    Qualifications

    Education, Experience, Certifications:

    • Minimum 4-year degree in Management, Engineering, or Quality, or 10 years of related manufacturing quality experience.
    • Experience managing teams.
    • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt training is a plus.

    Competencies, Skills, Knowledge:

    • Leadership skills.
    • Proficiency in root cause analysis and problem solving tools.
    • Customer and quality oriented mindset.
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Knowledge of ISO 9001, APQP, Control Plans, FMEAs, PPAPs.
    • Familiarity with statistics and Lean tools.
    • Ability to work independently and in teams on multiple projects.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficient in Windows-based computer applications.

    Travel and Additional Requirements

    • Travel expectations: up to 10%.
