It consists of highly experienced software engineering experts from diverse fields such as aerospace, robotics, cloud infrastructure, game development, and interactive media design. The team's charter is to align technology development with the CTO's strategic vision by integrating into various teams and projects across the organization. Members contribute directly to all three pillars of Hivemind, Shield AI's software ecosystem for resilient autonomous teaming in aircraft, which includes EdgeOS, Pilot, Forge, and Commander products.The team operates effectively within ambiguity, impacting foundational Hivemind products and developing low-TRL solutions in close collaboration with product teams. It serves as a pipeline for engineering talent across the organization, providing members with deep and broad understanding of the Hivemind ecosystem, preparing them for leadership roles in technology development.What You'll Do:
  • Design and prototype generative AI experiences to accelerate autonomy development.
  • Collaborate with the CTO's office to clarify and document the vision for Hivemind products.
  • Lead user experience design for Hivemind Generative AI.
  • Enhance user experience of Hivemind Commander and Hivemind Design by working with their technical leads.
  • Conduct user research to understand user personas and their needs.
  • Analyze competing products' user experiences and present findings to leadership.
Required Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience developing large, production-quality software systems.
  • Proficiency in mainstream programming languages such as Typescript, C++, Go, Python.
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices, version control, documentation, unit testing, and bug tracking.
  • 5+ years of experience with React, Node.js, Typescript, and JavaScript.
  • Deep understanding of UI and client-side state management, especially in React.
  • Experience developing web applications (front-end or full-stack).
  • Knowledge of DOM, browser APIs, WebSockets, HTTP Streaming, SSE, and multimodal input handling.
  • Experience with SPA routing, URL state management, and progressive rendering.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous environments, with a proactive approach to driving technical efforts.
  • Experience with Linux, Docker, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS).
  • Hands-on experience with Electron or similar frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with geospatial data and WebGL.
  • Experience with Playwright UI testing.
  • Building debugging/inspection UIs for generative AI systems.
  • Experience with client-side LLM context management.
  • Experience designing UX for video games.
  • Experience with low-code/no-code systems.
  • Comfort reading C++, Python, or Typescript codebases.
