Extensive experience in financial leadership, cash-to-accrual conversions, and multi-entity environments—particularly within the healthcare or insurance sectors—is essential for success in this strategic, hands-on position.Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Lead the financial reporting function to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP across all legal entities.
- Oversee the conversion from cash to accrual accounting, including project planning, execution, and stakeholder training.
- Develop and implement scalable organizational structures and accounting policies aligned with departmental and organizational goals.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statement preparation.
- Direct general ledger management, account reconciliations, and documentation of accounting controls and procedures.
- Maintain robust internal control systems and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and manage external audits, working closely with auditors, consultants, and internal teams.
- Drive improvements in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis methodologies.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- Foster collaboration and effective communication across departments and global offices, serving as a key liaison to executive leadership.
Other job duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Participate in the selection and optimization of enterprise accounting software and related technologies.
- Represent the finance department in cross-functional projects or company-wide initiatives outside core financial operations.
- Attend industry conferences, workshops, or networking events as a representative of the organization.
- Support ad hoc reporting or special analysis requests from executive leadership.
- Contribute to the development of company policies and procedures not directly related to accounting or finance.
- Assist with onboarding or training new staff in other departments as needed.
- Serve as a backup for other senior finance leaders or functions during periods of absence.
Minimum Qualifications (knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience. Required.
- Proven experience working in or with family-owned enterprises and global teams.
- Experience working in the healthcare, pharmacy benefit management (PBM), or insurance sector.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA certification (Certified Public Accountant).
- Experience optimizing or implementing accounting software for accrual-based accounting.
- Proven experience managing financials in multi-entity environments.
