Director of Credit & Market Risk Management

Global Investment Bank's US Broker Dealer in NY is seeking an experienced Market and Credit Risk professional to join their growing organization.

Description

The Credit & Market Risk function exists to mitigate counterparty and institutional customer risk in the equity, options, and fixed income markets. Responsibilities include reviewing the firm's credit and risk exposure daily. Main duties encompass:

Assessing margin requirements and stress loss for Prime Brokerage and Portfolio Margin clients

Monitoring credit and market risk exposures across various business segments daily

Providing timely measurements of credit and market exposure to facilitate credit decisions

Recommending risk limits and ensuring monitoring processes are in place

Reviewing business activities against pre-established boundaries and escalating concerns

Monitoring macro market environment impacts on portfolios

Monitoring deposits at central clearing counterparties and assessing potential impacts of new transactions

Investigating and reconciling client portfolios to mitigate risk

Engaging with external counterparties and internal management regularly

Contributing to risk framework development and policy updates

Performing due diligence on new relationships

Monitoring risk exposures and engaging proactively to prevent limit exceedances

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• 5-7 years' experience in credit & risk, preferably in broker/dealer environments
• Experience managing risk related to portfolio margin and prime brokerage clients
• Strong knowledge of market and credit risks, financial products (Equity, Bonds, MBS, etc.)
• Understanding of risk management frameworks (VaR, stress testing, etc.)
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Proficiency in Excel, Access, Bloomberg, SQL
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Base Salary Range: $145k - $185k
