Job Description:

This role involves defining and leading the engineering approach for solutions at the program or portfolio level, aiming to deliver significant business outcomes. Responsibilities include improving design, quality, and reuse of solutions, and delivering technology enablers to enhance development efficiencies. Candidates should be familiar with at least one engineering area, serve as a technical reference, and contribute to technical competency development through recruitment and training activities.

LOB Specific Job Summary

Global Markets GenAI Technology is a rapidly expanding team with locations in New York City, Charlotte, London, and India. The team leverages Generative AI to extract insights from data, driving revenue and efficiencies, and improving business processes. The platform supports numerous use cases utilizing proprietary and open-source Large Language Models and large datasets to generate insights for Global Markets and clients.

We seek a Senior Principal Engineer to scale the platform. This senior, hands-on software developer will be a key contributor to developing the Global Markets Generative AI platform, ensuring solutions are scalable, performant, reliable, and supportable.

The platform, already in production, continues to grow with new opportunities using Generative AI, built on diverse infrastructure and data sources to serve Global Markets and clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the engineering strategy for the program/portfolio, collaborating with Architecture to implement technical enablers.
  • Lead planning, design, and exploration of complex features across multiple teams.
  • Innovate on technology and solution development approaches.
  • Oversee solution development, including design reviews and code quality within your domain.
  • Select and define the technology stack, supported by approved technologies.
  • Research state-of-the-art technologies to improve development, testing, and release processes.
  • Lead end-to-end testing strategies and ensure integration across teams.
  • Work with Sales & Trading and Quantitative teams to build and expand the Generative AI platform.
  • Design scalable and available integrations, especially with Agents.
  • Develop architectural approaches for AI software and hardware integration, focusing on scalability with Agents.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize product design.
  • Mentor team members in technical best practices.
  • Stay updated on AI industry trends to innovate solutions.
  • Leverage Generative AI and NLP techniques to enhance capabilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in Machine Learning, Data Analytics, AI.
  • Experience with Generative AI solutions is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Generative AI frameworks, tools, and products for agentic solutions.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing multi-tier application platforms, including microservices.
  • Advanced Python skills, including OOP and REST API development.
  • Deep knowledge of databases, large datasets, and messaging systems.
  • Ability to partner effectively with business stakeholders to align technology strategy.
  • Self-starter with the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and trends.
  • Strong communication skills for independent and collaborative work.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience with a degree in engineering.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in Capital Markets or similar environments.
