Position Summary

The School of Medicine of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks an accomplished and visionary leader to serve as Chair for the Department of Psychiatry. The department's vision is to support and accelerate research, train future psychiatrists, and transform clinical medicine into patient-centered care.

It comprises a large faculty, multiple divisions, and partnerships with leading research centers. The department offers comprehensive clinical services, innovative care models, and extensive training programs. Faculty are accomplished researchers with significant NIH funding, and research is a core focus.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Board Certified Psychiatrist – MD/DO

Preferred Qualifications

Distinguished record of clinical excellence, research productivity, administrative skills, and commitment to education.

Physical/Mental Requirements & Security

This position is a Campus Security Authority under the Clery Act and requires reporting crimes and annual training.
