We are partnered with an outstanding client who are looking to grow their scientific team! This role is ideal for someone with deep technical experience, strong leadership capabilities, and an entrepreneurial mindset who can blend scientific innovation with external collaboration. You will be leading the Cell Line Development for new/ existing clients as a key member of the leadership team.

Responsibilities:

• Launch and manage a dedicated laboratory focused on customized cellular model generation, including development of workflows, technical protocols, and internal processes.
• Perform hands-on experimental work when necessary, including sample handling and assay development to support project goals.
• Develop tailored solutions using advanced cellular engineering techniques such as gene editing (knock-ins/knock-outs), overexpression systems, and protocol customization across a range of cell types.
• Partner with the commercial team to assess client needs, propose scientific approaches, and support proposal generation and project scoping.
• Serve as a technical liaison in client meetings, helping translate complex scientific goals into actionable plans and deliverables.
• Create and maintain regulatory and quality documentation in accordance with relevant compliance standards (e.g., ISO, cGMP).
• Represent the scientific capabilities of the organization in cross-functional collaborations and external engagements.

Qualifications:

• PhD preferred (or MS with significant experience) in a biological science or related field.
• 10+ years of post-academic, industry-based experience in cellular model development or related applied biology areas.
• Expertise in advanced cell engineering techniques and familiarity with productivity optimization, assay development, and custom protocol design.
• Understanding of quality standards and regulatory frameworks such as cGMP, ISO, and related compliance systems.
• Proven ability to lead and collaborate in a scientific setting, including co-leadership models.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-oriented mindset.
• Ability to support and influence business development through scientific insight and partnership.
• Strong organizational and networking abilities to support growth of the division and its client base.
