Responsibilities
As a Lead Systems Engineer with AMERICAN SYSTEMS, your responsibilities include:
Leading a team of talented, experienced Engineers on research projects.Analyzing project objectives and requirements, developing project plans, supporting safety reviews, including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, hazard documentation, and mitigation development.Overseeing day-to-day operations supporting the customer's acquisition support mission.Reviewing project instructions to understand requirements, specifications, and objectives.Creating reports and documentation to describe study and test results.Setting up and conducting tests or studies to improve performance or gather data, with supervisory review.Qualifications
Candidates should have:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Physical Science with at least 5 years' experience as a Principal Investigator, Group Leader, Project Engineer, Project Manager, or similar.Alternatively,:- 20 years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Physical Science.
- 18 years of experience with a Master's Degree in Engineering or Physical Science.
- 15 years of experience with a Doctoral Degree in Engineering or Physical Science.
U.S. citizenship and ability to pass drug testing.Strong understanding of Engineering principles and Systems Engineering processes.Ability to work and lead in a dynamic, multi-task environment, prioritizing and coordinating tasks.Commitment to safety principles and practices.Ability to manage and decompose requirements in technical areas, with strong communication skills and team collaboration.Experience in areas such as avionics hardware, data buses, software development, real-time systems, or system validation.High degree of originality and sound judgment in engineering research and problem-solving.Pay Transparency Statement
Our salary range is USD $129,800 - $216,700 per year, with actual compensation based on experience and other factors. We offer comprehensive benefits including healthcare, paid leave, retirement plans, insurance, and education assistance.
