About the Company
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated General Superintendent to lead and support a growing portfolio of commercial solar construction projects across the Northeast. The General Superintendent will play a key leadership role in our high-performing EPC team by overseeing multiple site superintendents and ensuring consistent execution, safety, and quality across all active project sites. About the Role
The General Superintendent will oversee multiple site superintendents and ensure consistent execution, safety, and quality across all active project sites.
Responsibilities
- Leadership & Oversight
- Provide direct supervision and mentorship to multiple Site Superintendents across various active project sites.
- Ensure alignment across projects with respect to safety standards, installation methods, scheduling, and communication protocols.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new field leadership personnel.
- Safety Management
- Champion a strong safety culture across all job sites.
- Ensure all safety protocols are rigorously followed in accordance with OSHA and internal policies.
- Review and respond to safety incident reports and oversee implementation of corrective actions across the portfolio.
- Project Coordination & Execution
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, field teams, and subcontractors to ensure field execution aligns with project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Participate in pre-construction planning, staffing strategies, and project kickoff meetings.
- Perform site visits to assess progress, quality, and team performance across multiple locations.
- Verify that job metrics, including labor hours, quantities installed, and progress milestones, are accurately reported in Procore on a regular basis.
- Quality & Standardization
- Ensure field teams execute work according to design specifications, installation best practices, and quality standards.
- Standardize processes and documentation across job sites to drive consistency and operational excellence.
- Lead initiatives to improve field productivity, logistics, and materials handling.
- Communication & Reporting
- Serve as the primary point of contact between site teams and executive leadership.
- Provide regular status updates, risk assessments, and performance reports to internal stakeholders.
- Resolve high-level field issues and escalate critical risks as necessary.
- Team Development
- Provide leadership coaching and technical guidance to Site Superintendents.
- Foster a positive, high-accountability culture focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Support performance reviews and training plans for field leadership.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to multiple job sites across the region.
- 5+ years of experience in field operations leadership, preferably in solar EPC or electrical/mechanical construction.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple job sites or teams simultaneously.
- Deep knowledge of construction safety, scheduling, and quality control practices.
- OSHA 30 certification required; additional safety credentials preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and team leadership skills.
- Experience using Procore or similar construction management platforms.
- Proficiency with construction management software (Procore preferred).
- CSL (Construction Supervisor License) preferred but not required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications.
