Summary

This position is for a full-time, 50% grant-funded, tenure track AssistantProfessor in Forestry and Natural Resources based at the Eureka campus.The Forestry and Natural Resources / Geomatics Assistant Professorwill develop and implement a Geomatics Certificate and teach a andwide variety of Forestry and Natural Resource courses that may include,but are not limited to: Introduction to Surveying, Geospatial Concepts,Introduction to Remote Sensing, Introduction to GIS .Additional responsibilities will include aiding in all necessary steps tomaintain Society of American Foresters ( SAF ) accreditation, curriculumdevelopment, assessment, establishing relationships with industrypartners, and hosting community advisory meetings. Teaching assignmentmay include night and weekend work, teaching via on-campus,online, and hybrid, and in synchronous and asynchronous course-deliverymodalities.Anticipated start date for this position is Fall 2026.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Forestry or Natural Resources with at least onedegree from an SAF -accredited institution.• Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Geomatics, or related disciplines.• Experience working in a hand-on, collaborative educationenvironment.• Knowledge of GIS and Spatial Analysis software as well as otherdiscipline specific technology.• Interest and expertise in applying remote sensing, geographicinformation systems, data collection, analysis and modeling tonatural resources management questions.• Interest and ability in obtaining the Registered Professional Foresterlicense in California.

Education and Experience

Minimum Requirement: Any bachelor's degree and two years of professionalexperience, or any associate's degree and six years of professionalexperience.

Salary Grade

Salary Grade Based on education and experience

Salary $69,660 - $99,963/Annually (Salary range, based on education, continues to a maximum of $156,613/Annually)

Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful clearance of a criminal background check, freedom from tuberculosis, and proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States prior to the first day of work. The District may select additional qualified candidates should unexpected vacancies or needs occur during the recruitment/selection process. When education is a requirement for the position, official academic transcripts from the accredited college/university will be required.College of the Redwoods Faculty Organization is the exclusive bargaining representative for College of the Redwoods faculty employees. Each employee hired into a faculty position shall contribute to the administration of this contract by membership dues or service fees.Initial salary placement is determined by education and teaching/professional experience. Refer to the CRFO Collective Bargaining Agreement for specific details on salary placement.

Medical, dental, and vision insurance is provided by the District for all full-time employees and their dependents.
