Our client is seeking a Plant Maintenance Manager to join their team at an expanding facility in Ridgeville, SC.The Plant Maintenance Manager will schedule, coordinate, lead, and direct all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements of a Gravity Casting, High Pressure, Machining, and Melting furnaces facility. This role must manage all building/facilities, equipment, and machinery. This is a hands-on working manager position. Successful candidates must be able to prioritize resources to meet production demands while minimizing downtime. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing maintenance, a deep understanding of die casting processes, and excellent leadership skills to drive a team of technicians.Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive safety, quality, productivity, cost, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
  • Ensure effective employee relations, provide employee coaching and development, assist in making employment decisions, and resolve employee issues using a variety of problem resolution techniques.
  • Ensure full compliance with shop health and safety policies and perform accident investigations.
  • Cross-train employees to ensure production requirements can be met every day, including establishing and executing a manageable job rotation schedule for all reports.
  • Be visible on the production floor to assist the production floor and contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Ability to create and maintain a budget.
  • Maintain and improve the integrity of production and quality systems through machines, equipment, processes, and employees that add business value to the organization. Implement the plant's preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize production loss and unscheduled downtime (TPM). Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure optimal upkeep of facilities.
  • Keep a record of equipment failures and provide timely information to management.
  • Analyze breakdowns and take actions at the root cause level to eliminate recurrence of problems.
  • Ensure vendor maintenance and repair manuals are up to date and in order.
  • Establish a good spare part management system.
  • Reduce losses and continually upgrade equipment to improve availability.
  • Reduce repairs and maintenance expenses.
  • Achieve timely execution of projects as per planned time frame.
  • Achieve power cost reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements PCB, EB, Explosives.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and NIOSH standards and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • 7 to 10 years of previous Die Cast Maintenance Management experience.
  • 15 years of die casting experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic functions and components.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and achieve results through others.
  • Effective communication skills with customers, vendors, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other co-workers to leverage their expertise in solving complex problems.
  • Must be able to prioritize work and coordinate multiple tasks within the constraints of the position.
  • Must be hands-on and have a personal drive to succeed.
  • Able to handle conflict resolution and other employee complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment and to establish strong team relationships.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, daily overtime, and off shifts as needed.
  • Ability to understand P&L and drive decisions to meet or exceed expected results in safety, quality, and delivery.
  • Must have experience in a high-volume production environment.
  • Flexibility to work 2nd or 3rd shift long term.
  • Exposure to TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and TQM (Total Quality Management) and continuous improvement environments will be an added advantage.
