The Opportunity

Plans, directs, and coordinates activities concerned with design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment and machinery in an industrial plant. This permanent position reports to the Engineering Manager.

  • Reports to the Plant Engineer Manager and manages a 24/7 shift system, providing electrical/mechanical, process, and environmental maintenance support to cheese/whey production and packing operations.
  • Assists the Project Manager during construction and commissioning phases.
  • Liaises between SWC, contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors regarding new projects.
  • Supports procurement in maintenance parts replacement programs.
  • Identifies and assembles internal and external resources as needed.
  • Assists in training new team members and establishing team roles and expectations.
  • Monitors work breakdown structures, quality, schedule, safety, and budget.
  • Maintains maintenance records and documents.
  • Implements maintenance objectives and success criteria.
  • Schedules and conducts team meetings to review progress and resolve issues.
  • Trains operations personnel and participates in plant commissioning and turnover.
  • Manages Plant Maintenance Mechanics and Electricians, overseeing their work and performance.
  • Utilizes GPS processes, promotes zero losses, and upholds Glanbia's culture and non-negotiables.
The Skills You Will Bring to the Team
  • Associates degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience. Over six years of maintenance experience in building, facilities, or dairy industries.
  • Ability to interpret technical and regulatory documents.
  • Proficient in report writing, presentations, and data analysis.
  • Understanding of TPM and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Leadership skills, ability to prioritize, delegate, and handle multiple projects.
  • Proficient in PC skills including email, databases, and MS Office.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of safety policies and food safety regulations.
