Position Summary
We are seeking a seasoned environmental engineering leader to grow environmental engineering as a function within the organization. This includes permitting, planning, and execution of environmental site remediations. You will serve as the subject matter expert and operational driver, responsible for managing remediation projects end-to-end, from permitting through successful site closure.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and lead all aspects of site remediation efforts, including permitting, stakeholder communications, and logistics management.
Serve as the in-house subject matter expert on environmental compliance, remediation strategies, and applicable regulations.
Interface with regulators, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution.
Develop and maintain comprehensive remediation plans, schedules, and budgets, with proactive risk management and mitigation strategies.
Conduct site assessments, interpret environmental data, and ensure proper documentation, reporting, and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage vendor relationships, ensuring quality, safety, and environmental compliance in field operations.
Maintain and refine internal processes for environmental management and remediation to scale with company growth.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of experience managing environmental remediation projects or programs, including permitting, regulatory engagement, and field execution.
Deep knowledge of environmental regulations (e.g., RCRA, CERCLA, Clean Water Act) and permitting processes.
Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects from planning through execution.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly for regulatory documentation and external communications.
Strong appetite for technology development and disruption within legacy environmental engineering practices.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Additional Consideration Given For:
Advanced degree in Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, or Environmental Policy.
Prior experience with brownfield redevelopment, hazardous waste management, or in-situ/ex-situ remediation techniques.
Familiarity with construction safety and environmental health protocols in field operations.

This position reports to the CEO . It is a primarily in-office role based out of Remedy's Alameda and Oakland, CA facilities, with some travel to remediation locations as needed.
