Every employee takes a person-centered approach that exemplifies the ICARE values (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence) through empathic communication and partnerships between all persons.PurposeJob DescriptionUnder the general direction of the Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for the overall administrative work for varying degrees of difficulty and with varying degrees of latitude of independent initiative and judgement in delivery of support service to the Finance Department. General responsibilities include, but are not limited to taking a leadership role focuses on integrating clinical, operational, and technology with financial outputs to drive data-driven decision making within the Finance Department.Specific Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe Director of Finance is charged with and responsible for:

• Lead efforts in data collection, analytics and informatics within Finance to support initiatives as directed by the department head through the creation and/or advancement of data tools and platforms.
• Champion master data management and reporting standardization.
• Oversee the formation, integration and enhancement of financial systems and databases, as applicable, and all other share resources that promote real-time data sharing across the department.
• Oversee data quality standards within the department through dashboard and platform optimization.
• May supervise tasks related to the data services/programming and development dashboards and/or procedures to support financial initiatives within the department.
• Ensures compliance with current policies and procedures are followed.
• Prepare and publicize operational manuals and procedures if deemed appropriate.
• Plans, develops, and may conduct training programs to maintain proficiency of staff throughout the facility.
• Perform all other related duties in alignment with the mission, vision, values, and behavioral expectations of NYC Health + Hospitals

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline with an emphasis on accounting and financial systems; and four (4) years of responsible-level experience in fiscal management or administration with an emphasis on financial systems, management information and controls, three (3) years of which must have been in responsible administrative or managerial capacity; or
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in “1” above; and five (5) years of experience, as described in “1” above, three (3) years of which must have been in a responsible administrative or managerial capacity.

Department Preferences

• Ability to understand processes of the Finance department and work within that context.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications used within the finance department such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Peoplesoft, EHR systems (EPIC), Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake, SQL and other defined dashboards.
• Identify opportunities to optimize dashboards and all other data platforms within the finance department and effectively communicate changes if deemed appropriate to Chief Financial Officer.
• Ability to act as a lead in data analytics and insight for the department.
• Recognizes own limitations and seeks appropriate assistance as needed.
