Job DescriptionJob Title: Laborer - Urgently HiringPay: $16.40 per hourHours: 1st Shift, Monday-Thursday, 5:00 AM - 3:00 PMStart Date: ASAP We are seeking a Laborer for afull-time position for our client, a lumber processing facility located in Burnham, Maine. The Laborer will play a key role in safely and efficiently handling lumber products in a sawmill environment. Success in this position looks like maintaining strong attention to quality while performing physically demanding tasks to keep production flowing smoothly. This is a very physical role requiring stamina and strength and is based onsite in Burnham, Maine. As a Laborer, you will:
- Safely remove assigned lumber grades from the green chain.
- Stack boards on designated cobs to maximize process flow.
- Maintain quality standards by inspecting lumber during handling.
- Use proper lifting techniques to handle materials weighing 15-25 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Stay alert and focused in a noisy and dusty sawmill environment.
- After 4 PM, assist with cleaning up remaining boards and sawmill areas as needed.
The ideal candidate will have:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required).
- Previous labor or manufacturing experience (preferred).
- Good hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work on feet for the entire shift and lift heavy materials.
- Strong attention to safety and quality.
- Willingness to work in noisy and dusty conditions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work on your feet all day.
- Ability to lift 15-25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Good eye for quality and strong hand/eye coordination.
- Capability to work in a sawmill environment with noise and dust.
PPE:
- Steel-toe shoes required.
- Eye and hearing protection provided.
