Certified Athletic Trainer

Focus:
- Conduct on-field and in-clinic assessments of musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary, and integumentary conditions, then design evidence-based treatment plans with clear functional goals.
- Provide immediate emergency response, taping, bracing, and therapeutic interventions at games, practices, and special events.
- Guide athletes through injury-specific rehab programs, continually re-evaluating progress and modifying care to ensure safe, timely return to activity.
- Document evaluations, treatments, and billing details accurately and on schedule in accordance with regulatory and departmental standards.
- Educate athletes, families, and coaching staff on injury prevention, nutrition, and performance optimization strategies; tailor communication to age and culture.
- Mentor athletic-training students and support staff, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
- Collaborate in discharge planning and coordinate referrals or follow-up services to ensure continuity of care.
- Support performance-improvement initiatives that elevate patient outcomes, satisfaction, and departmental efficiency.
- Work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends aligned with sport seasons.
Skill Set:
- Current Illinois Athletic Trainer License (or eligibility/pending status).
- Active CPR certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field; BOC “ATC” credential maintained via continuing education.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs and meet physical demands of sideline coverage.
- Proficiency with EMR systems, Microsoft Office, and basic computer applications.
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional resilience to thrive in fast-paced, occasionally high-stress situations.
Preferred Extras:
- Master's degree in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, or related discipline.
- Experience providing coverage for high-school or collegiate athletics.
- Familiarity with performance-tracking technology and tele-rehab solutions.
