Role Description

We are seeking a licensed and experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to conduct initial telehealth consultations with new patients. The PA will play a key role in onboarding patients by reviewing their medical history, confirming diagnoses, and ensuring they are matched with the appropriate registered dietitian for ongoing care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct virtual intake consultations with new patients.

• Review and document detailed medical history, current symptoms, and previous diagnoses.

• Confirm patient eligibility for nutritional counseling based on diagnosis and referral information.

• Use clinical judgment to assign patients to the appropriate dietitian based on their condition and needs.

• Schedule the first appointment with the dietitian and coordinate follow-up if needed.

• Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation in the EMR system.

• Communicate professionally with referring providers and internal clinical staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
• Current Physician Assistant licensure in the state of New York
• Credentialed with Medicaid
• Experience in a clinical setting specializing in GI care is a plus

• Experience with telehealth platforms and remote care delivery preferred.

• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

• Comfortable using EMR systems and digital scheduling tools.
