About Chronius

Chronius is a first-of-its-kind virtual primary care provider—the only practice specifically designed to serve patients with invisible illnesses and complex chronic diseases. We care for a large, yet historically underserved, patient population: the over 80 million adults in the U.S. living with conditions like Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), autoimmune disease, thyroid disorders, Long Covid, ME/CFS, IBS, and more. Nearly all of our patients are polychronic, and we've treated over 600 distinct conditions to date.

We're creating something different: a virtual-first primary care model built from the ground up to deliver comprehensive, longitudinal, and condition-literate care—what we call Primary Care+. We offer the full scope of traditional primary care—preventive care, acute visits, chronic disease management—with the added depth, tools, and team support needed to care for patients whose conditions cross multiple systems, evolve over time, and often go undiagnosed for years.

Founded by a patient who has lived through these very challenges, we understand the frustration of navigating a healthcare system that too often fails to recognize or meet patients' needs. By combining innovative technology with hands-on clinical and wraparound support, we help patients gain clarity, feel seen, and take ownership of their care.

We launched in Florida and are expanding to additional states, with the goal of becoming the national medical home for people with complex chronic conditions. As demand for our care grows rapidly, we're looking for mission-driven physicians who want to help build something better.

Why This Role Might Be a Fit

This role is tailor-made for primary care physicians who want to move beyond the limitations of conventional, high-volume care—and practice differently. If you're burned out by assembly-line medicine, burdened by short visits, and craving the time and tools to actually help your patients, Chronius may be the right next step.

We've designed every part of our model to support deep clinical work:

  • Longer visits (60-minute new patient visits; 15–45 minutes for follow-ups)
  • Smaller patient panels (up to 800 patients)
  • Robust care teams, including NPs, RNs, care coordinators, patient advocates, mental health providers, physical therapists, and more
  • Custom-built tools and AI, streamlining intake review, documentation, and longitudinal care planning
  • Proprietary clinical training in the most common complex conditions we treat, so you're fully prepared and supported from day one

Chronius providers act as the clinical anchor—coordinating care across specialties, advocating for patients when the system falls short, and helping them make sense of their conditions in a way no one ever has before. Many of our patients come to us with undiagnosed or under-treated conditions, and we don't wait years for someone else to connect the dots—we train and empower our clinicians to do it.

This role is ideal for physicians who:

  • Lead with empathy and are energized by building deep, long-term relationships with patients
  • Are confident managing clinical complexity and ambiguity
  • Want to act as a quarterback and advocate
  • Practice evidence-based medicine and are curious, thorough problem solvers
  • Are excited to help build and improve a care model for one of the largest underserved patient populations in the country
  • Thrive in a team-first, mission-driven environment that values quality over volume

What You'll Do

As a virtual primary care physician at Chronius, your primary focus will be delivering comprehensive care via video appointments for a panel of medically complex adult patients. You'll be supported by a collaborative team and thoughtfully designed clinical tools, allowing you to practice high-quality, evidence-based medicine with clarity and care.

You will:

  • Diagnose and treat acute medical issues
  • Provide longitudinal care for complex chronic conditions
  • Educate and support patients in understanding and managing their health
  • Prescribe medications (excluding DEA-scheduled drugs)
  • Order and interpret necessary labs and diagnostic testing
  • Complete disability, accommodation, and medical necessity documentation
  • Refer patients to appropriate specialty care when needed
  • Write clear, detailed medical notes supported by smart templates and AI
  • Respond to patient messages (triaged by our nursing team)

You'll also:

  • Collaborate closely with a team of NPs, RNs, care coordinators, and patient advocates
  • Participate in weekly multidisciplinary care planning
  • Contribute ideas to improve clinical workflows, processes, and tools
  • Embrace the fast-paced, evolving nature of a startup environment
  • Help cultivate a culture of clinical support, mentorship, and mutual respect

At the core of this role is a commitment to empathy, clinical excellence, and patient-centered care, always tailored to the specific needs of each individual.

What We're Looking For

  • MD or DO, board-certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Minimum of 5 years, post-residency, primary care experience, ideally with chronic or complex patient populations
  • Licensed in Florida or willing to obtain Florida licensure with Chronius' support (residency in Florida is preferred but not required)
  • Strong communicator, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly and compassionately
  • Comfortable using EHRs and telemedicine tools
  • Passionate about treating invisible illnesses such as Long Covid, POTS, EDS, MCAS, autoimmune disease, IBS, and more
  • Collaborative, humble, and excited to help build a new standard of care
  • Personal connection or experience with complex/chronic illness is a plus

Schedule & Expectations

This is a full-time position, with clinical availability expected during core business hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM ET. Physicians in this role are expected to spend 25–30 hours per week in scheduled patient visits, with the remaining time dedicated to documentation, care planning, patient messaging, and collaboration with the care team.

While we don't currently offer weekend coverage, we may implement limited on-call availability for patients in the future. If that happens, this role would be part of a shared rotation — expected to be one weekend per month — to support urgent (non-emergent) needs for existing patients. These after-hours requests would be rare, but having occasional weekend availability ensures continuity of care and added support for our complex care population.

Join Our Mission

Chronius is a telemedicine startup founded by patients, built by clinicians, and designed for people who have long been underserved by the healthcare system. When you join our team, you'll go through a robust, condition-specific training program to prepare you for success—and you'll be part of a movement to transform care for people with complex chronic conditions.

We offer:

  • Competitive salary ($190k-$230k) and comprehensive benefits package, with equity potential
  • 401k
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Malpractice insurance provided, including tail coverage
  • Flexible, remote work environment with innovative technology
  • Professional development opportunities and CME
  • Work-life balance with flexible scheduling within our operating hours
