The role involves working with the Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) staff to track and report on environmental, health, and safety projects, with a particular focus on risk management in waste recycling and disposal. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can manage multiple priorities and tasks concurrently while working under pressure. This position involves approximately 65% data gathering, processing, evaluation, and reporting, and 35% communication via email, telephone, and face-to-face interactions. The candidate must be able to effectively communicate with employees at all organizational levels, suppliers, and contractors.Responsibilities:
- Conduct waste management reviews, including assessing recyclers and disposal facilities against defined criteria and maintaining audit data and reports.
- Collect and summarize documents related to waste generation and disposition.
- Maintain the Environment Health and Safety intranet website to communicate EHS requirements to employees and managers.
- Assist in developing communications and training aids on environmental and workplace health and safety topics.
- Contribute to the monthly EHS newsletter and create/distribute videos, posters, and emails.
- Ensure accurate reporting on compliance and training across national operations, including data gathering, processing, and tracking.
- Review remediation-related data for sites with historical environmental contamination and compliance reports for submission to regulatory agencies.
- Track and assess incoming data on environmental and workplace safety regulatory changes.
Qualifications:
- At least three years of experience with formatting and presenting large data sets.
- Professional experience in the environmental or related regulatory field.
- Working knowledge of regulatory and public policy systems, as well as waste recycling and disposal.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Excel.
- Experience working within corporate databases and strong data entry/manipulation skills.
- Ability to work independently, track and meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Knowledge of the telecommunications industry is a plus.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in telecommunications.
- General knowledge of environmental requirements applicable to the telecommunications industry.
- Experience in waste recycling, disposal, and environmental site remediation.
- Ability to meet demanding deadlines.
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science or a related field (required).
