Job Summary:
A well-established food manufacturing company is seeking a Mechanical/Reliability Engineer to optimize equipment performance, reduce downtime, and drive process improvements. This hands-on role is ideal for a mechanically inclined professional who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and has a strong understanding of manufacturing systems and maintenance best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement detailed machine inspections and PM (Preventative Maintenance) task lists
- Train technicians and operators on inspections, rebuilds, and machine reliability
- Plan rebuilds in coordination with machine runtime and lifecycle
- Create rebuild part lists and set up procedures for calibration and setup
- Lead and support classroom and hands-on training sessions
- Assist with small tasks related to site expansion projects
- Support and lead root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives
- Attend planning meetings to stay aligned with factory KPIs and production goals
- Execute machine upgrades and part replacements to increase reliability and longevity
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Systems Engineering
- 2–5 years' experience in a reliability, maintenance, or engineering role (food manufacturing preferred)
- Experience with SAP, JDE, or other CMMS tools is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong technical aptitude
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and mechanical systems
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced, wet/humid environment with exposure to high noise, mechanical, electrical, and pressurized equipment
- Exposure to allergens (including nuts)
- Must be comfortable working in a cold environment and in proximity to production lines
