Opportunity Overview
Breaking Data is seeking a Junior Designer to join our collaborative and dynamic team. In this role, you'll help bring brand stories to life across a wide variety of digital and print formats—with a strong focus on PowerPoint presentations, training materials, sales aids, and other promotional assets for healthcare audiences.
You will work under the guidance of our Creative Director and collaborate closely with our senior designer, writers, and project managers. Candidates should be comfortable working with brand style guides, adapting creative concepts for various deliverables, and preparing print and digital files for production. You'll build on those skills while learning design nuances in a regulated healthcare environment.
Roles and responsibilities
Creative Development
- Create and execute smart, brand-aligned design solutions across multiple platforms and formats.
- Translate complex content into clear and engaging visuals for healthcare professionals, patients, and payers.
- Design assets such as multi-slide presentations, sales aids, infographics, guides, social media graphics, and emails.
- Apply fundamental user experience principles to ensure designs are clear, accessible, and engaging for their intended audience — whether viewed in print, on desktop, or on mobile devices. (No coding required; this is about design for usability, not web development.)
- Follow established brand style guides and adapt existing design themes to create derivative formats (e.g., taking a sales aid design and applying it to a slide deck or LinkedIn post.
- Collaborate with writers and editors to ensure clear visual hierarchy and clinical accuracy.
Collaboration and Support
- Work closely with internal teams and external partners to design cohesive and engaging deliverables.
- Participate in brainstorms and reviews, offering visual input and solutions.
- Take ownership of assigned design tasks and contribute actively to team development and workflow.
Production and Process
- Create and adapt designs for both print and digital formats, setting up files to meet the correct specifications for various platforms.
- Design digital deliverables such as emails, banners, and social graphics with responsive layouts optimized for desktop, mobile, and tablet.
- Prepare and package print-ready files with correct specs, and review proofs for accuracy before production.
- Stay up to date with digital and healthcare design best practices.
- Efficiently manage multiple projects, balancing speed, accuracy, and visual clarity.
Qualifications
Design Skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong understanding of layout, typography, and visual hierarchy.
- Ability to create visually compelling designs such as infographics, charts, and data visualizations to support clear communication of dense or complex content.
- Basic understanding of pre-press workflows and file setup for print and digital with an awareness of how designs translate to both.
- Familiarity with designing content optimized for various social media platforms and their specific specifications is a plus.
- Awareness of basic user experience principles and how they apply to print and digital design.
Project Management and Collaboration
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Willingness to ask questions, adapt to shifting priorities, and embrace creative feedback.
Communication and Culture Fit
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate design concepts and ideas.

Education
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Portfolio showcasing examples of marketing collateral, multi-slide presentations, and complex data visualization or infographics
- 1+ years of professional experience within a healthcare agency or life sciences organization is considered a plus
