Position Summary:
The Senior Program Quality Engineer oversees program quality and provides support to various functional departments including Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement, Program Management and Sales as needed to ensure product quality and continual improvement as well as addressing cost, competitiveness, and customer expectations.
Key Results Areas:
- Monitor, assess, oversee, and improve product programs to ensure quality and contractual requirements are met and continue to be met.
- Review, understand, and be able to explain contract requirements and properly create flow down requirements internally and to suppliers.
- Support contract manufactured product and programs through production.
- Review contract related purchase orders to ensure contract requirements are captured and communicated to suppliers.
- Participate in contract requirement communication with customers as required.
- Participate in contract requirement communication with suppliers to ensure understanding and compliance.
- Manage and coordinate customer source inspections.
- Lead customer audits by providing and guiding auditors to objective quality evidence of compliance.
- Review and provide process input to production route cards to ensure proper quality, customer, and applicable hold points are in place.
- Review drawings and provide input to production for proper route card creation of parts, subassemblies, and top-level assemblies to ensure contract requirements are met.
- Support customer meetings as company quality representative.
- Support required customer documentation throughout the program.
- Create Certification of Conformance and data packages based on contract requirements.
- Review, assess and manage as built conditions and reports to meet customer contract requirement.
- Report overall program quality status to top leadership.
- Monitor, assess, and improve design and program quality, in-process production, inspection, and assembly performance to ensure program requirements are maintained.
- Support the DFMAIT process on applicable programs from design through manufacturing handoff as the Program Quality SME.
- Create and present the program quality slides for design reviews on applicable programs.
- Author/support the creation of other contract documentation deliverables (ex Quality Plans,
- Configuration Management Plans, program specific BNTIs, etc.) as required on applicable programs.
- Monitor in-process assembly and test to ensure proper execution per program requirements.
- Review applicable test results to ensure results of the test are compliant with customer requirements.
- Review inspection plans prior to incoming and in-process quality control inspection.
- Coordinate incoming inspection per contract and internal requirements.
- Review certification and data package on incoming material and assemblies if applicable.
- Document the defect/out of specification condition to Material Review Board for review and disposition determination.
- Plan for improvement which considers product safety and compliance to support countermeasures and corrective actions.
- Oversee implementation of countermeasures and corrective/preventive actions as necessary in support of improvements.
- Perform internal process audits to confirm process and contract compliance.
- Continuously improve procedures, processes and methods to ensure quality with zero defects and/or escapes, which are measured by completion of predetermined improvement initiatives.
- Identify areas for improvement in process and product relating to quality and contract requirements and elevate them to top leadership.
- Assist and occasionally lead continuous improvement teams to help drive company-wide improvements.
- Review company drawings and identify manufacturability, inspect ability, contract compliance and process improvements.
- Develop, monitor, and update data required for internal BN and customer communications.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- To qualify for this position, an individual must possess the knowledge, training, experience and abilities required.
Education and Training
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other engineering discipline or combination of education and experience.
Experience:
- Seven years' experience in quality engineering or quality assurance.
- Seven years' experience with recognized quality systems (ISO, AS, QS, TS).
Other:
- Must be willing to work overtime as required.
- Travel up to 20% of working time.
Desired Job Qualification:
- Experience in a complex metal manufacturing environment – aerospace environment preferable.

Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this role is $90,000-$115,000. This range represent the anticipated minimum and maximum base + bonus for this position based upon a good faith and reasonable estimate. The final compensation for this position will be set based on the applicant's qualifications (education, training and/or experience related to this role), and therefore, may fall outside the range shown, depending on the circumstances.
